Classic Clip of the Week!

Skid Row! My love for this band is endless! This track '18 and Life' from their self titled debut showed how much better than the rest of the hard rock bands out there were! They could master a ballad just as much as a classic in your face hard rock track! And their next album the almighty 'Slave To The Grind' showed they could match it with the great heavy metal bands around in the early 90s as well. Still such an under rated band who had it all in front of them. Unfortunately Sebastian Bach and the rest of the band can't seem to settle their differences and form a reunion for the fans! What I wouldn't give to see them perform together again! Of course, the band went on and released a few albums with a different singer, and Bach has done some solo stuff, but lets face it, it just ain't the same. So while we wait for the band to get their shit together, crank up their classics like this one from 1989 and drink to the old days when music like this ruled the airwaves!!

The end for AC/DC?

AC/DC bass player Cliff Williams has announced he is leaving AC/DC as the last show of their world tour winds up. So, the big question now for Angus is, does he go on with AC/DC, retire or do a solo album maybe? Will be interesting to see what he decides to do. One final tour in Australia would be cool. C'mon Angus!!!

Classic Clip of the Week!

In respect to the incredible Devin Townsend releasing a new album last week, I feel it is fitting to have the classic clip of the week a Devin Townsend song. Incredibly in 1997 Devin Townsend released two masterpieces that were in stark contrast to one another. His extreme metal band released the jaw dropping 'City' album, while out on his own, he released an album titled 'Biomech' under the moniker 'Ocean Machine'. This album still to this day nearly 20 years later remains in my top 5 albums of all time. This video for the song 'Life' sums up the album perfectly. Melodic yet still heavy. The writing and recording process of these two great albums took it's toll on Devin though, with the artist having to check himself into a mental health hospital due to a mental breakdown. It was discovered he had bi-polar disorder, yet he went on to record incredible album after incredible album. So sit back and enjoy the sweet sweet sounds of Devin Townsend in what I think is his finest nugget of gold in a field of gold nuggets - Ocean Machine - Life!

Swiss hard rockers to release new album in January!

Under rated hard rock band from Switzerland - Gotthard will release a new album in January! Their last album 'Bang!' was released in 2014 and was a great return to form with Aussie vocalist Nic Maeder. These guys deserve to be huge so pencil in January 13th to check this new album out! I'm sure it will be massive!
